You may have heard of the term THC or CBD. What are they and how are they connected with cannabis? The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health defines cannabinoids as “a group of substances found in the cannabis plant.” THC and CBD are just two of more than 120 cannabinoids that have been discovered by researchers. Prohibition on hemp growing has prevented researchers from widely researching these compounds. However passage of the 2018 farm bill which Federally legalized hemp growing throughout the United States has lead to a renewed interest from researchers investigating the interaction between these cannabinoids and the human endocannabinoid system.
