In mid-March the Texas Ag Commission released licensing for growing hemp in Texas. More than 600 applications were initially received and over 400 have currently been processed. Farmers wasted no time getting hemp in the ground despite difficulty determining what genetics will work best in the hot Texas sun.
One of the most creative uses of the license has been hemp CBD retail shops indoor growing for educational purposes. These photos come from our friends at San Antonio based veteran owned shop Freedom CBD.
Freedom CBD owner Mike Salinas was one of the first shops in Texas to open. He had been an amazing source of information for the local industry, speaking at conferences and sharing his struggles in advocacy and compliance. It was fantastic to see his mission come full circle with issuance of his hemp license.
